Phenomenally bad translation.
Amazing how such translation can be even taken seriously
Example:
4-138: सत्यं ब्रूयात् प्रियं ब्रूयात्, न ब्रूयात् सत्यम् अप्रियम् । प्रियं च नानृतम् ब्रूयात्, एष धर्मः सनातन: ॥
Translation: Speak the truth, speak pleasantly. Do not speak the truth unpleasantly. And neither speak pleasant but not true. That is eternal Dharma.
Translated: Let him say what is true, let him say what is pleasing, let him utter no disagreeable truth, and let him utter no agreeable falsehood; that is the eternal law.
How is this even allowed?

An authentic translation a MAITHILI BRAHMIN, Ganganath Jha.
This translation by a very great Sanskrit scholar, also a Brahmin must be a translation in letter and spirit. The Wikipedia entry 'Ganganath Jha' shows his incomparable scholarship. When quite a number of verses from the text fly violently against noble principles, it is common that some people blame them on the White scholars' willful twisting of the original. BUT SO FAR NO WHITE SCHOLAR'S TRANSLATION OF MANUSMRITI HAS APPEARED.

One of the CHEATING translation
First of there is no name of the translator, second manu never uses cast system, but this guy uses word cast, the translator needs to learn BASIC SAMSRKITA first.

This translation of manu was done by a British Missionary from Kerela. Beware of such biased translations.
